TestAuthor was created to help you to easily learn all the schools and jobs stuff or the things of further interests, worth to be remembered.

>>> EASY USAGE !!!
TestAuthor is free from all superfluous functions to be easily handled in defining your own tests or in using the test mode.
Nevertheless a detailed online help is shipped together with the program.

>>> Standard and Multiple Choice Questions
TestAuthor can be used for all purposes and is not fixed for use with special thematics! You may define standard questions with one answer to find out or multiple choice questions with some given possible answers to find out the only right one. Both formes can freely be mixed in one test.

>>> Further Commentation of Questions and Answers by additional Texts and Pictures
To each question and each answer you may attach one additional text and/or bitmap file for further explanation of the question or for detailed description of the stuff to be learned.
Supported are:
1. RTF files with formatted text (fonts, stiles, colors) which can be created using WordPad for example, which is encluded in Windows 95.
2. Plain text files (.TXT) like this ReadMe.TXT
3. Bitmap files (.BMP) you can create for example using Microsoft Paint, which is also encluded in Windows 95.

Using the program CREATOR.EXE, which will be installed during installation, you can easily create complete installation disks with your selfmade tests.

	***  Installation  ***

When getting the program, all needed files should be stored on a floppy disk or in a seperate directory on CD ROM. Maybe you downloaded it from the Internet or from an online service. In this case you would have a ZIP archive, the files are packed in. This ZIP file you first have to decompress to a floppy disk or into a temporary directory on your hard disk which can be removed right after completing the installation.

The files listed below have to be enclosed:
	1. The files named D1, D3, D5
	2. The installation program INSTALL.EXE
	3. This ReadMe.TXT file
	4. The online help TestAuthor.HLP

In addition to the necessary ones a variable amount of files for a shipped test may be encluded. Except of one file named TEST.LST they are all named in the form Txxxxxxx where xxxxxxx means, they are numbered consecutively. In the case of the little sample test of the original version, the following ones are encluded:
	T000001, T000002, T000003, T000004 and T000005

>>> Installation
For installation you should run the included program INSTALL.EXE by doubleclicking its icon in the Windows 95 Explorer with the left mouse button or by yousing the Windows 95 Installation Wizard. Detailed explanation of the installation you will find in the online help, you can run also by doubleclicking its icon in the Windows 95 Explorer. For this use TestAuthor is not to be already installed !!!

>>> Removing TestAuthor from your System
When you later decide to remove TestAuthor from your system, you should run the program UNINSTALL.EXE, which will be copied to your hard disk during installation. A detailed description is included within the online help which you can display by doubleclicking the TestAuthor.HLP's icon in the Windows 95 Explorer, even if TestAuthor is already installed or not.
Due to several options choosable by the user, TestAuthor has to remember when started again even the computer was powered down, during installation and use of TestAuthor, some entries will made in your system, which will remain there when you delete all the programs files (e.G. by using the Explorer). Using UNINSTALL.EXE instead, will completly clean your system from TestAuthor.

	***  Shareware Remarks  ***
	***************************

TestAuthor is Shareware. This means: It costs you a fee, when using it permanently. The fee is 11 US-Dollar or with reduction for pupils up to an age of 15 years only 3 US-Dollar without any limitations in the programs functionality.

Until registering for shareware the program may be tested extensively, but each test may contain up to five questions only and you cannot use CREATOR.EXE to export tests.

The easiest way for registering is in using CompuServes registration service GO SWREG. The programs ID will the be 15364. But a reduction for pupils is not possible in this case. Refer to the TestAuthors online help !
